Book ten interviews in seven days

A practical WhatsApp, DM and in-person outreach sequence.

Ten conversations is enough to hear the same sentence three times, which is the point at which you stop guessing. The barrier is never willingness — people enjoy talking about their work. The barrier is a vague ask.

The seven-day sequence

  1. Day 1: list thirty names. Warm contacts, second-degree intros, people whose shops you pass, members of trade groups you are already in.
  2. Day 1–2: message fifteen. Ask for fifteen minutes, name the topic, and be explicit that you are not selling.
  3. Day 3: go physical. Three shops or offices, mid-morning on a weekday when traffic is low. In-person conversion beats DMs by a distance.
  4. Day 4–5: follow up once with anyone who read and did not reply. Once. Not three times.
  5. Day 6–7: run the conversations you booked and write notes within an hour of each.

Expect roughly a third to say yes. Fifteen messages plus three walk-ins reliably produces ten conversations. If your yes-rate is far below that, your message is too long or too vague about what you want.
